Deforestation

Definition- Deforestation is the act of cutting down trees in large quantities to make room for roads, grazing, agriculture, and any other means which requires a great clearance of trees. It involves a mass destruction of the forest. This process is carried out by using forest fires and heavy machinery. New technologies are allowing for quicker and more effective ways of clearing a forest. Cutting down trees occurs in every corner of the globe, but the areas which are suffering the most due to deforestation are that of the world's tropical rainforests.
